My name is Daryl Stinson and I suffer from Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome. Its is a rare congenital malformation involving blood and lymph vessels and abnormal growth of soft and bone tissue. It affects my left leg and can be not so pleasant to look at. I have kept this from most people in my life except family and very close friends. Any time I were shorts people stare which has lead me to keep it covered at all times. I'm writing this not to talk about KTS but to talk about acceptance. We are all human beings, no matter race, color, creed, religion or physical disabilities. We can not continue to destory people's ability to be free from discrimination. I use the word discrimination because we discriminate against people if they fit the definitions of what the media considers beautiful or cool. Humanity is at a breaking point. Below is something I wrote to help me get through the hard times.
Trying to walk down this road. It's not easy but everyday I put my shoes on and keep walking. Am I even on the right road? One foot in front of the other. Take your time and enjoy the things you walk for.
