10.17.01 BHIC return to studio for upcoming movie soundtrack

The soundtrack for the upcoming film "I Am Sam" starring Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer will feature a cover of "Strawberry Fields Forever" performed by Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals. The soundtrack reflects the story of a disabled man (Penn) who happens to be a Beatles genius. With the mental capacity of a 7-year-old, this amazing father faces great adversity trying to regain custody of his young daughter. The film, due out later this year, might not be released until early 2002. No release date has been set for the soundtrack.

09.30.01 New arrangement of "With My Own Two Hands" debuts at benefit concert

Ben debuted a new arrangement of "With My Own Two Hands" Friday night at the Mick Fleetwood and Friends Benefit Concert. The song is normally played live in a medley with "Burn One Down" and has rarely been played on its own. His acoustic seven song set also featured rare solo performances of "Whipping Boy" and "Mama's Got a Girlfriend Now."
