What I loved about this show in particular was that in the big world of festivals Ben made his fans feel as if they were in a more intimate setting with him. We felt connected. The Virginia Beach Amphitheater was set up with paid seats up front and a beautifully pedicured lawn for general admission in the back, it was a beautiful day and a carefree energy was in the air. I hardly remember the other musicians who performed...however Ben took the stage and captivated most everyone by inviting all of his fans to move up from the general admission lawn section into the empty seats up front, for his set only. This inherent kindness gave a zealous spark to every sound moving through the air and, of course, made me beyond very happy. I didn't want his set to be done so soon, however I was elated to learn that he was going to do an acoustic set on one of the smaller "side stages," on site. He played solo to a small group of us shouting out requests...gently unwrapping our favorite memories with his soulful voice, lyrics and acoustic guitar. He was ever so approachable and took the time to speak with fans, sign autographs... I was able to thank him for the beauty and passion he shares with us all through music.
