Another strong performance from Ben and the men! We drove down from central Maine and were treated to yet another great gig. PLEASE BLEED has really become one of my favorites, and Ben did it up right in Durham. Other highlights would have to be the powerful opening song, ALONE, and the song that always gives me hope, FORGIVEN. The crowd, with very few exceptions, was respectful of the quiet nature of his acoustic work. Given that UNH is no slouch when it comes to party schools, that was a pleasant surprise.
It was a VERY special treat to get a chance to hear Ben lay down a super cover of Pearl Jam's "Indifference".The first time I ever saw Ben perform live was as the opening act for P.J. at Mansfield,Mass. on the YIELD tour in September of 1998. I remember being totally amazed by him then, and it has only gotten better and better. Thank you once again to Mr. Harper and the entire band and crew.

Ben put on a very chillin show for the UNH crowd. The show began with a "Burn to Shine" threesome. Then we got a little intimate side of the band when Ben played a couple acoustic tunes. I was very impressed with By My Side. But the really fun started when Ben broke out his phatty slide guitar, explained it a little, then kicked into Glory and Consequence. The Woman in You was dedicated to Curtis Mayfeild and John Lennon. Ben's solo preformance was magical with a heartfelt version of P Jam's Indifference. The band got a little Sexual then ripped into Faded. Many folks a UNH seemed a little suprised to hear Whole Lotta Love, seems a lot of them didn't own Live from Mars, but I have a feeling after this preformance that they all are gonna have it now!
