Jack Johnson sat in on "High Tide Or Low Tide" and "Please Me Like You Want To".
Although this is my first Ben show, it was amazing although some people before me might beg to differ. I was very impressed by the Bob covers and hey guys let's give Ben some credit for his cover of mr. robert nesta's "War." It was nice to go to a concert and not hear the same bob songs covered and being able to sing along to the songs that not many people know. Although there was many underage drinkers throwing up on themselves, who were right behind me, (disgusting, I enjoyed the concert and the encore with w/ Jack for "High Tide or Low Tide" was a surprised because it was an unexpected song to hear at this concert.
I give Ben unbelievable amounts of credit for his performances and of course "Burn One Down" made the night. One love children!!!!
i was satisfied...the energy released from ben and the ic could be seen in each of the fans, which is a major accomplishment for any band. Ben's words after Walk Away left me with the most peaceful feeling. Security wasnt that tight considering i snuck down so i was about 5 ft from the stage. I
would see him every night if i could b/c although each setlist from the tour is similar, he will never play a song exactly the same. Thank you so much Ben and Co.-you are a true inspiration, keep it true
I LOVE BEN HARPER!!!! The concert was so incredibly amaizing i can't explain it. Oh yes.
Bravo!!!! The show was to say the least increadiable. I have seen Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals three times now, and I'm amazed by ability of Ben and the rest of the band to reveal a totally different angle or feel perhaps I should say, every time I see them.
I have never been to the Mann center before, and it has become my favorite venue. Those who posted complaints about the crowd and security are total fools. I've never experienced such a large crowd so united. Jack Johnson was terific (regardless of what that 1 post full of complaints sayed), I especially loved the Sublime cover.
The Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals performance was increadiable. By the end of the performance I was totally speachless. I couldn't have been more pleased. The show was very passionatly performed and I thank you.(The news of you touring together was hard to believe, and it was all I thought I'd be) Come back soon.
Very strong show musically. However, I agree with the other posts about the chaotic crowd. I dished out the extra money for pavilion seats and realized once I got there that it didn't matter. Saw Norah Jones (with my girl)in the pouring rain at the same venue the previous night and the security was ridiculously strict. If you even paused in one of the aisles, they were rushing you out. I barely even saw security at the Ben show!
Anyway, my other gripe is the unoriginal setlist. It was virtually the same songs I heard at Bonnaroo a week earlier. Looking at this tour's other setlists, it seems as if he's got a framework in which he only changes up 1 or 2 songs a night. I'm still a huge fan, but I'll pass on seeing him again during this particular tour.
Have seen Ben ten or more times now
and each time is better than the last..
though marred by "Meatheads" and drunken fratboys, Ben still cut thru
and made me forget the everything else,
after so many shows of seeing him seated
it was wonderful to see him jumping around, like we always do....
Much Love to Ben and the IC
none to the Thomas Mann Center
After seeing Ben and the Criminals for over 10 to 15 amazing shows I was overdue for a bad one. I had no idea how bad it could be. Jack Johnson has no business playing in such a large venue. He could barley be heard over the drunken din of the crowd. I thought that even Ben Harper's set was o.k. at best. The same songs are being played at each show, which is new for these guys. Also on some of the heavier songs the vocal/screams are ear piercing. The set felt rushed with no interaction with the audience at all.
Also just for the fans that have followed this band for the past 10 years, this is a whole new crowd than you are used to. Maybe it was just an understaffed venue, but the amount of under-aged, piss-drunk, fools running around this place was awful. I party hard like everyone else but I saw several people vomit all over themselves, fights, people peeing IN THEIR SEATS, seat-hopping etc. Now we are all used to this but I have never seen it this bad or the offenders so young at one show. Plus the fact there was NO security. Just like DMB and Phish, going to Ben Harper is now just a reason for a bunch of frat guys and teenie- boppers to get wasted. Avoid the Mann Music Center in Philly and I want my money back!
i've seen ben harper before at bonnaroo... but with the addition of the innocent criminals, the power of the performance was heightened once again. Each member adds a unique blend of energy and ben feeds off of all of them. The Bob Marley cover the perfect way for ben and jack to collaborate their styles. And props to Leon Mogley for that sick drum solo.
amazing show. my 6th time to see ben, 3rd to see jack, and this show was the best yet. i didn't think they could beat the performances at bonnaroo, but they did. i get to meet ben and leon after the show too, and they were both so awesome. best show i have ever seen, and best time i have had in awhile.
WOW...My mind is still trying to comprehend the greatness I saw on Saturday!!
wow. this band was groovin their ass off no matter what style they were playin. everything was so authentic and incredible.
The show was amazing...with both new and old songs...Ben really brought the funk and delivered his soulful lyrics to the crowd. Jack was unreal as well. I feel blessed to have witness such a performance...High Tide Low Tide was the highlight of the night...bringing both Ben and Jack together with a such a great Marley song...put inspiration in all of us
Absolutely Amazing. Only wish some of the drunks could have shut during Ben's deep talk with the crowd. Best concert I've been to.
One word: Awesome, this was the 2nd time i saw Ben, the first at the electric factory. So much energy, so much talent. The encores were superb High Tide Low Tide Awesome awesome awesome!!Cant wait to see Ben in Philly again!!!
Just got back from the Bull Run Show (6/22).... one word... AMAZING!! once again the pair has blown the roof off of the venue and rocked out hardcore. i caught myself in tears a bit, especially when 'the woman in you' was performed. never have i seen a musician perform with SOOOO much heart.. i love you Ben.
Definitely one of the best shows I have been to in a while. Benny H and J.J. did a splendid job. Encore One was great, and Encore Two was greater. With a couple Bob Marley covers from both bands, you can't go wrong...
It was so great. They played for forever. although i think ben should have played when its good from the new album only because i really like it. ben kept danceing and encores out the wazoo. it was awsome
this was my first show with Ben and Jack. i couldn't believe how wicked awesome this show was. Ben is hands down the best on stage performer i have ever had the pleasure to experiance. Let me not leave out the Innocent Criminals who are just a unbelievable band. So much energy and raw love for the music and fans. And how about all the beautiful women that were on hand for this show. In conclusion, I don't know how any show could match up to this experiance. Ben you have set a standard that only you can exceed. Bravo!!!
What a night! Ben put forth more energy and emotion into this night than you could ever ask for, showing us again that he is the man!
Pure magic. I loved it. I have never been that impressed with a concert in my life. Burn one down was like 15 mins long. I LOVE U
It was the best show that Ive ever been to...Although it was sad that G Love couldnt make it last night! Jack and Ben were amazing!
as a first timer, the ben and jack in concert was truly amazing. the longest concert i've ever been to, and the best sets and encores. can't wait to see them again
once again, better than expected.
