The Hilton Amphitheatre isn't my favorite venue for concerts but Ben did rock it. I kind felt bad for Jack Johnson, because a good portion of the audience weren't into his set when he first came on...the college kids were slammin' beers and playing grab @$$ with the gals serving it, which was a distraction for the crowd I was smooshed into. This was a high energy show for Ben Harper...actually, it was the first time I saw him so animated on stage, I was taken aback. It was something different but it worked, with as mellow as Jack Johnson was in the opening, Ben kept the audience on edge and waiting for the next pouncing on stage and jammin' with guitars. I loved the classic Ben Harper songs + "Sexual Healing," & was blown away by the "Faded/Whole Lotta Love," close. I think I much better enjoy seeing Ben Harper in a more intimate setting...or the ambiance of a more intimate experience...
What an amazing experience!!! Right from the begining with Jack Johnson to the fireworks at the end, this is without a doubt the best concert I've ever been to! Ben touched my soul with every song he sang. He is such an amazing person, song writer, and performer!!!
One word, Delicious
straight up sick
Best concert I've ever seen ! I truly felt their was an actual Musician on that stage- and not some sell out who is only in the business to make money- Both Jack and Ben are amazing performers, their live show is undescribable ! Thanks for showing me and the rest of the fans what real music is !! Keep it real, and never sell out ! That's what makes Ben a true Artist !!
Absolutely, Amazing. We drove 23 hours from Canada and I would do it again tomorrow. Best live show I will ever see.
Thanks Ben for once again showing me the light.
I'd like to thank all the Innocent Criminal's as well as your newest member Marc Ford. What a perfect fit Marc is. The jams were small but deep even though he's only been in the band a short while.
You all have taken the music of Ben Harper to the "Next" level.
This was without a doubt the best Ben Harper production that I've ever been to. Can't wait 'till SACTO.
The only complaint and it's not even a "Complaint" is. Keep Jack's set to 45 min. you guys (TIC) deserve to be on stage as long as you can each and every show, explore those jams and enjoy your voyage through-out the next level....
I know I will:)
Without doubt this was one of the best concerts that I have ever gone to. Jack played for almost 2 hours-- great set- wasn't disappointed, but Ben Harper was mind blowing! His varied styles kept the house rocking with R&B "Sexual Healing", Reggae (Marley would have been proud), delta blues, acoustic ballads, "Two Hands", "Burn Another One Down" set the crowd ablaze, just to name a couple of this fantastic set. But the night was topped off with one of the greatest renditions of "Whole Lotta Love" that you'll ever hear climaxed by a fireworks show! Truly, this was one of the best concerts that I've ever been to. Ben & Jack: come back soon!!!!!!
Ben Harper and Jack Johnson will have a permanent spot at #1 on my Top 10 concerts list. I came mostly to see Jack, but fell even more in love with Ben's soulful vocals, his masterful guitar playing, and his genius lyrics. Ben shared the stage with an impressive cast of Innocent Criminals. The four to five hour concert, with the double encore, felt like only a few short moments. Ben and his band had me moving the entire show.
The second time i've seen jack and ben and it was better than the first. Jack was great and his new album played awesome live. Ben's performance was worth the 8 hour drive. I can't say enough how amazing Ben is live and he stole the show. Worth any drive.
Jack Johnson was abolutely amazing. The performance was one of the best i've ever seen. Together with Ben Harper the concert was incredible. Ben rocked the whole crowd and was a real amazing live performer.
Soulful and passionate. Jack Johnson real chill, Ben Harper completely amazing. I've been to a lot of concerts and this was the best I've ever been to. Whole show was great, going to see it again in Sacramento!!! Thanks...
