Rock For Choice benefit show. Ben played a solo acoustic set.
I thought the show and Ben's performance were excellent. I did feel a little out of place when I was cheering for Ben and not many other people were. But I did not care, I was there to show my support and hear Ben. I hope that he does something like this again at such an intimate venue. Ben... You Rock!!!
Great set from Laura's introduction (very sweet) to Ben's comments on the issue of Roe vs. Wade (Ben articulated his view in a way that managed to get his view across without alienating anyone in the room regardless of the side of the issue they were on. Not an easy thing to do in general, but it seems a particularily thin line to walk with this issue). The audience could have participated a little more (Ben gave some cues, but the audience was slow to respond, painfully in one instance, "My choice is what I choose to do..."). But all is all a solid set list, and nice show. The band line up this past tour was great, but it is always pretty powerful to see Ben stripped down to the most basic elements...his voice, a couple of guitars, and his soul/passion that seems to permeate everything he touches.
