The Blind Boys of Alabama sat in for the last 3 songs. 25,000
9-15-04 The setlist was a bit predicatble, but only because I've been a BHIC fan for so long. The crowd seemed to consider their set an appetizer for the DMB main course, which was surprising being so close to where Ben grew up. Regardless, the BB of Alabama were inspirational and a nice surprise. I wish Ben would have played more acoustically, but I'll take whatever I can get. Can't wait for the next US tour...And Ben's sound is far from that of the legendary Paul Simon, You're in a class of your own Ben...
To be honest i hadn't really herd of Ben Harper befor that night. I had herd Steel My Kisses but I had no idea of how had done it. My friends know I'm a music junky so it kinda took me by suprise that I hadn't herd of this teriffic singer/song writer. I can only say that since that concert I have looked up his music bio's, bought his music and made my fammily listen to it. I am a big fan of Paul Simmon and Ben's sound id very similer. I hate to compare but i think it best if anyone was to read this that like's that type of music. I can also say that , though I was there to see Dave Mathews , Ben made a very lasting impression on me.
Ben if you get to read this I want to say that you absolutly ROCK!!! I am and will allways from here on out one of your biggest fans.
