Damian Marley sat in on "Get Up, Stand Up."
This was my third BHIC show and by far my favorite. The rain was relentless but it seemed to add flavor to the show. Damien Marley was amazing and BHIC blew me away. After the show my niece and I actually got to go backstage and meet Ben and get a few hugs and conversation. All of my expectations of greatness were surpassed by far! Definetely a night I will never forget! Thank you for everything!!! Can't wait for the next show!
First BHIC concert ever. Not to be the last. Ben Harper has always been my musical inspiration and this was why. Greatest personal moment, seeing Amen Omen, Diamonds and Morning Yearning. Only disappointment, despite the prolonged chant of hundreds of fans, Ben failed to play Burn One Down.. Gutted.
Otherwise, that whole 2 1/2 hours was a reconfirmation of why i love Ben Harper so freakin much.
wow. i've seen BHIC a few times before but this may have been the best show by ANY band that i have ever seen. the rain added something to the show that i can't explain. there was some magic in it. the show was amazing. ben's passion for what he's doing get's into you and just moves you. ben standing on the fence at the end was one the coolest jestures i've ever seen an artist do for his fans. "amen omen" blew my mind. it was so so good. juan during "black rain (and all night for that matter) was great. "sexual healing" tagged with "if i was your girlfriend" by prince was a great surprise as was "heart of gold". ben please some sort of recording of this show. it's a night i'll never forget. ben please come back soon.
Honestly, that was hands down one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Ben and Damien were amazing and the setlist was on point. Thanks for a great show, come back to NC soon:)
Once again it was magnificent to hear you guys! Rain or shine, my family and I will forever be grateful for your music and appreciation for the audience.
This was the BEST Ben Harper concert I've ever seen. The atmosphere was great. The Marley family was awesome. Ben seemed so grateful to his fans and you could really feel his emotion. Thanks Oliver for the drumstick!! Come back to Cary soon.
This was my my fourth BHIC show and was hands down the best. The last time I saw their show in Cary it rained and I was excited to see another show in the rain. It just brought the show to another level. I have loved his music since first hearing in 1994 and am thankful I was able to share the experience of seeing BHIC live with my friends. Please come back to NC soon! My favorite part....lifting my hands to the sky and singing "I'm free". Thank you for sharing you passion and talent with all of us.
last night was simply amazing. the rain added a serious spiritual flavor to the show. it was awesome to see ben and julian, damian, and stephen marley come together for get up stand up. this was my 2nd time ive seen bhic and ill soon be in the front row at another concert. phenomenal, def worth driving 3 hours and paying 139 for a hotel. keep up the wonderful music. bless you ben harper for the experience.
I must admit I was a bit bummed before the show due to the rain. Well... I was completely wrong. The rain added to the magic that I witnessed last night. This was my 6th BHIC show and by far my favorite. The entire set list was sick. It just blew my mind every time they played a song. At one point I looked towards the sky and thanked God for allowing me to be a part of a truly spiritual night. Thanks BHIC!!!
Unbelievable! There aren't any other musicians out there today with the diversity and versatility as BHIC. "Homeless Child" into "When It's Good" set the stage for a ridiculous evening, making me forget about the downpour taking place. "Amen Omen" was simply mind blowing. The improv's in "Sexual Healing" were brilliant and "Heart of Gold" was a beautiful surprise! When Ben came out into the crowd to feel the "warm southern rain" at the end of the show, you could tell he was as fired up as we were! Tremendously talented and humble, what a refreshing combination! Thanks a million BHICI'll never forget it!
Absolutely amazing show! Thank you to Ben and the Innocent Criminals for never disappointing. Ben's humbleness and appreciation for the fans enduring the rain went above and beyond. 2 and 1/2 hours of perfection is how this show should be described. Highlights for me included Black Rain (with an unbelievable bass solo from Juan), Faded, Ground on Down, Another Lonely Day, and an awesome version of With My Own Two Hands instrumental. Thank you again to Ben and the Innocent Criminals for making us forget about the rain and for being so humble and thankful to the fans!
The show was absolutely thrilling and moving. The sets were incredible and everything was performed with so much passion and love. We might have been drenched, but no one even noticed during the show. The rain, after a while, become somewhat of a spiritual effect for me after a while. I will never forget this show or how I was actually able to hold Ben Harper's hand three times when he stood on the fence. That was the most insane experience of my life and is something I will never forget. Thank you BHIC for having such great love for your audience who loves you even more.
THIS WAS MY 8TH BHIC SHOW, SECOND IN A STEADY DOWN POUR. THEY ARE JUST GETTING BETTER WITH AGE. MY APPRECIATION FOR BEN AND HIS BAND MATES TALENTS GROW EVERY TIME I SEE THEM LIVE. THERE ARE NO OTHER BANDS THAT CAN MAKE A FEW THOUSAND PEOPLE DANCE IN THE RAIN AND AT TIMES BE SO QUIET YOU COULD HEAR EVERY WORD OF THE BALLADS. THANKS FOR THE LOVE AND PASSION OF YOUR MUSIC BHIC. BEST SONGS OF THE NIGHT: 'AMEN OMEN', AND AT THE END OF THE SHOW - 'BETTER WAY' WAS LIKE A GIGANTIC TRIBAL RAIN DANCE. THANK YOU BHIC. PEACE.
This was my first BHIC show, and I am still amazed this morning. What a great experience. Supposedly it rained the entire show, but I never noticed it. I think I was just hypnotized by the amazing performers on the stage. Incredible! And I have never seen a musician come out and great his fans like Ben did at the end. BHIC's awesome. You fans are awesome! See you soon at another show!
What an amazing show. The rain will not stop us!
