This concert was amazing. Words can't describe it. It was the best show that I've ever been too and one I've been anticipating forever! Can't wait to see them as soon as they come around.
i cant wait until he comes to birmingham
Drove 6 hrs to see show as always great show. Thanks for "By My Side" no one has mentioned it and it was not on set list.
What more can be said, the power and raw emotion showed in "Where could I go" truely moved the lucky few that filled the inner sanctuary of the Ryman. I've seen the band many times before and every set has been filled with the true love for music that was on display. To Ben and the band I say thank you for sharing I left full. And to the fans of this wonderful musician I say cherish the moments of this light and his surroundings and never miss a chance to meet at the Ryman.
What a performance! While listening to Ben Harper, you get the feeling that one day your children will ask you "Did you ever see Ben Harper?", as i asked my father about Otis Redding. The man's voice is simply incredible. The band performed with style and dressed with class, consumate professionals - the encore of "Lifeline" was so heartfelt and emotional that it can't be reproduced in words or recordings. If you haven't seen this band live, go do it. In this MTV era, it is so rare to find musicians that play with such passion and sell their music based on the music without dancing, sex, or some hyped up light show. GREAT SHOW BEN COME BACK SOON
Unbelievable show. The accapella part in "Where Coud I Go" is a moment in time no one in the Ryman will ever be able to describe with an entire encyclopedia or photo album. There are many moments in my life I wish I could get back and redo, this was not one of them. For 2 hours time stood still and the crowd was no where and yet everywhere all at once. Thanks you BHIC for enlightening us with your God given ability to move mountains.
I flew in from Baltimore just to see Ben @ the Ryman. It was an incredible venture. The entire Band was on, it was if Ben and the rest of the band never got off of the tour from last year. The new songs are perfectly melded for this small Theatre tour and it's nice to see so many dress up for the show. I've also never ever heard a Ben audience get as quite as this crowd did (not a noise). An unitentional cough or a "whoaaaa" from another during the micless Where Could I Go felt as if the crowd of people would turn on them like a pack of wolves and throw them out on Printers Alley. It was an exceptional job on the audience's end. I can now appreciate why Ben calls the Ryman his No. 1 Spot. I must add that I ran into Ben on my way back to the hotel (I was so excited that I didn't even ask for a picture or an autograph.... but the simple handshake will always be remebered) and I just have to tell him again how wonderful and enlightening his shows are to me and to so many others. God Bless BHIC.
...basking in the afterglow of such a tremendous show tonight at the Ryman. Ben Harper at the Ryman! Such a cliche, but you just feel the energy swirling around in that venerated space, mingled hopes and open hearts, and he knows exactly how to harness it--change it, work with it, create from it....give and receive.
I've never missed Ben at the Ryman. I hope I never will. The shows just get and more incredible! Taking the stage tonight, it was thrilling to hear him call the Ryman his "home."
I get it Ben! I'm not a native, but I feel at home there too. How could you be a lover of music and not catch that particular wave? Walking in underneath the colorful glass windows, tracing your fingers along the old, worn wooden benches you just feel alive. The true beating heart of Nashville!
And Ben brought the soul! That acapella moment during "Where Could I Go?" will remain forever tattoed in my brain. "That," I told my daughter (as she sat on my lap, staring open-mouthed at the stage,) "is what one voice can do!" And the instrumental, "Paris Sunrise" was breathtaking, showing the stunning range in Ben's musicianship--to be able to go from naked voice to bare hands. I'm sure the sound of the Weissenborn will linger with me for days...
And the band was so on tonight! What a rockin' good time! Thank you, boys! Thank you, Ben! Thank you, Nashville! I feel alive, and beautifully, almost indescribably human.
UNBELIEVABLE!!! Ben Harper puts so much emotion into every song it is unbelievable. The acoustic (NO MIC) part of 'Where Could I Go' was one of the greatest performances of my life.
If you have never seen him play, please go to a show ASAP. This guy loves to perform and appreciates every fan that is there.
Ben you are the greatest!!!
