Ben played his first gig, a set of bottleneck blues at Patrick Brayer's Starvation Café music series in Fontana, California, near his hometown of Claremont. Ben's early shows, mostly in small coffee houses and college hangouts throughout the Inland Empire, relied on little more than solo guitar and vocals. No amplification.
