Idroscalo Est

Beginning a run of three shows in Italy, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals played to more than 10,000 fans and even more mosquitos at Milano's Idropark. When the gates opened at 8pm, tons of fans rushed in to secure front-row positions. Waiting for more than two hours for the band to take stage, most were treated to their first experience of original Innocent Criminal percussionist Leon Mobley's vivacious personality and drummer Oliver Charles' pounding beats. Playing well into the night, the band tore into old classics like "Gold/Fight" and brought new life to set-staple "The Woman in You." "Welcome to the Cruel World" was a surprise for everyone. But closers "King/Rise" lit the crowd up.... An ongoing summer concert series, the Idroscalo Est featured acts like David Byrne, Tricky and Massive Attack.
