This is a video excerpt of "Inland Empire," from my new instrumental album entitled Winter Is For Lovers. It was filmed at my family music shop, The Folk Music Center, which has been open 62 years. Deluxe signed and numbered 180 gram vinyl out now on Anti Records.
Filmed by Alex Bordoni & Adam Keely
This has been a long time in the making, and today my instrumental album "Winter Is For Lovers" is available on limited edition signed and numbered 180 gram vinyl.
The album is meant to be one composition, an A-side and B-side, comprised of 15 movements.
Formatting this album for digital was a unique challenge, and in doing so, I have named the individual pieces within the body of work after some of the places that have influenced the album, or where the pieces themselves were written.
To order go to the Ben Harper Shop. We expect to start shipping on or around September 4, 2020. Select USPS Media Mail for cheapest shipping! A standard vinyl and digital version will be available later this fall.
Hey, King! are incredible. Natalie's songwriting is a master class. I am honored to have produced this record for my pals, Nat and Taylor.
Please check them out and give them love.

While government and law enforcement turn a blind eye, this 100% factual murder mystery follows a serial killer through New York's gay community in the 1990's.
He targets his victims with methodic precision, then hauntingly fades back into his daily life, going undetected. Before you know it, the author has somehow found a way to place the reader in the position of peering over the assailant's shoulder.
Being reminded of the gender bias at that time is highly unsettling, but the void of protection by the state is almost as shocking as the murders themselves.
Not since Norman Mailer's "The Executioner's Song" have I read a book that reads like a novel while being 100% non-fiction.
This book is not only the masterwork of a first-time author, but serves as a love letter to gender equality.
